Resolving Sync Issues with APDL-Palm Edition
Solution

If you experience any issues with synchronization of your Palm OS device using APDL, please follow the steps below and provide the results in a support ticket:

1) Click on the hotsync icon on the lower-right of your PC's taskbar.

2) Click (Custom). Under the conduit list make sure the "System" conduit
says  "Handheld overwrites Desktop". If it does not, double click on it to change
it. (Note:  If System is not listed it may be called Backup)

VISTA USERS USING HOTSYNC MANAGER 7.0.2

  • In HotSync Magager 7.0.2 Under the Applications,
  • select Media,
  • select Configure
  • select the option of Device overwrites Desktop
  • check set as default.

3) Click "Done".

4) Hotsync your Palm Pilot.

5) Click on the icon again, and select view log. Note the palm user name in
the drop down box. This is the last device synced.

What is the user name in the dropdown box ? This is the username of your
Palm Pilot.

Does "OK System" appear in your last hotsync log ?

6) Click "Done"

7) Run Logbook Pro

8) Select "Launch PDA Wizard" from the "PDA" drop down menu.

9) Click on "Airline Pilot's Daily Aviation Logbook - Palm OS"

10) Under "Palm User Name" select the same name that appeared in step 5.

11) Under "Date Filter" select "On or after" and put a date of 1/1/2001 (or a
date you are sure contains data)

12) Click "Sync"

13) Click "Save Log", save the file "LogbookPro-SyncLog-2006_5_1_XXXXX" to
your desktop.

14) Check you logbook to see if records were added

15) Please provide us the log file from Step 13 for our review.
